When I Think Of You

When I Think Of You is an animated short for children written by Becca Freeman and animated by Simon Garb, a multidisciplinary artist at Cooper Union in New York. The two were inspired to write the story through their shared time in the Irish countryside and their experience with child education. The piece follows Roísin, a young girl who has been bound to her grandmother’s house in the land of Lasenburry on the planet of Pompanu with her kitty, Stellate. On Roísin’s clondestial birthday, she follows the societal ritual of embarking on a one day journey to her mother’s house far, far away. Throughout this journey Roísin and Stellate encounter creatures and challenges of all kind in hopes of finally reuniting with her mother.
